The greatest sushi roll ever is at this place in vernon hills called "Osaka". Treat yourself to a "firecracker" roll.....I haven't had a better roll in any other sushi joint from rockford to chicago and even cali.

Bob Chinns is tops. Never been to Osaka. Where in Vernon Hills is that? Mom lives there. I used to. Mmmmmm, Sushi....

If you want some really good sushi at an unbeatable price go to the made-to-order Sunday brunch at Simon Lin's Asian Bistro in Lincolnshire.

The cake to the right above is a Wasabi-Chocolate cake. Great sweetness with a little bit of wasabi heat. Ooooooh, people are going to think I'm as big of a shill for Chef Lin as I am for Sho Tank.

For around $20-$25 per head you can order from the above menu and leave fat and happy with a tremendous variety.

Port Edwards?

It's right off the Fox River (You can actually boat up to it and dock there). It is on Algonquin, about a block East of Rt. 31. If you go on a Friday they have a massive buffet with crab legs, sushi, jumbalaya, mussels, clams, shrimp, and 6 or 7 other dishes. I don't normally eat buffets, but this is the one I'll make an exception for. They also do a Sunday champagne brunch but I haven't been up there for it.

Try the bacon wrapped scallops.

man, that roll on the left (kinda lookin like a snake or something looks goood!)

Osaka is on butterfield road, if your heading west from the mall on 60 (townline rd) take a right on butterfield and about a quarter mile up the road on your left is osaka....

Papa Deux is good but expensive. Everything their is ala carte and it tends to add up. Nice scenery including a large FO saltwater tank right when you walk in.

Bob chinn's is good, Their Clam Chowder is amazing. I hgihly recomend it but with a warning. Its a very filling chowder. My wife and i would get a bowl each of it and could hardly finish our dinners and i'm a big guy and i know how to eat.

Excluding PITW sad experience at Red Lobster i think its an over all good resteraunt. Their prices are reasonable and their portions are healthy. It wouldn't be my first pick if you were looking to get an impressive lobster tail but their endless shrimp deals that they have once or twice a year are unbeatable.

Port Edwards is one seafood resteraunt i have yet to visit. I have been wanting to go for a long time and i have heard nothing but good things about the food their.

Joes Crabshack was a little dissapointing for me. I thought for what i was payng i would get a little more and i am all about getting the most for my dollar. The portions were small and the menu was kinda boring. Mind you this was almost 3 years ago so things may have changed.

Long John Silvers is no longer near me so i really can't voice any opinion on this resteraunt which really is not what i would qualify as a seafood resteraunt but more your typical fast food chain. I did have it once a few years ago and it wasn't that bad. I especially liked the hush puppies. They were my favoriate.

I wouldn't suggest eating Long John Silver's more than twice a year if you want to live past 40 years lol

I know that my response is non-of the above but has anyone ever ate at Davis Street Fishmarket in Evanston!!! Great Oysters!!!!

Nope not Ala carte, unless you have a different meaning than I know. When I order my fav(pepper shrimp) I get dirty rice and asparagus with it. I've been to Bob Chin's and Port Edwards on multiple occasions, but Papa's gets me coming back every time. Why, may you ask? Flavor, of course. I love the spicy food! Dirty rice, pepper shrimp, blackened scallops, and the best creme brule' I've ever had and any place that has it on the menu I try it and none has stood up to the Pappas.

I could have sworn it was ala carte but your probably right. I have to agree with you about the flavor though at Papa Deux. I get the blackened yellowfin tuna steak and its out of this world.

I have to say I enjoy the food at Papadeoux

The others are no more a seafood restaurants then McDonalds is a steak place......

I've heard nothing but great things regarding Papadeoux. Is the only one the one near schaumburg? or are there others?

I vote none of the above. I can't eat seafood now that I have a tank. It's kinda like eating the dog... fish are pets now, not food.
