What is your system turnover per hour?

I have a red dragon 8 that feeds my 210gal display from a 70gal sump... I am pushing about 2100gph (about 10x turnover)...

In the tank I have about 50x turnover with my 2x6200s... I run the Tunzes in alteration on full blast...

I am planning on putting on a few more little circulation pumps like a couple of Tunze nano's for current direction...

Since only one Tunze (5283pgh) is running as a time, you really only have 25x turnover, right ??

Yes, they alterate, one on 15sec, the next 15sec. So the water never stops...

I'm running a dart for my return on my 400G tank. I have 2 sumps, 30 G that holds my skimmer and a 90 G. The tank overflow, 2", feeds the 30 G where the skimmer sits. The skimmer output, about 1750 GPH feeds the 90 sump and the excess in the 30 feeds the 90. So I'm running about 2500-3000 GPh thru my sump w 500G total system volume. Seems to wok just fine.

I'm also running a Hammerhead on a C/L with a canister filter (Hayward swimming pool filter) so it's flowing about 3000 GPH and a Barracuda on a C/L with a OM 4 way that flows about 4500 GPH as there is very little head loss on that C/L. I have the OM set up with returns at each end of the tank so I get a small wave action going across the tank.

450G display about 600 total gallons and an Iwaki 55 for return so about 2 to 2.5 times. In tank roughly 30 times not counting the 2 waveboxes.

As for the chiller/heater issue just put the controller probe in the tank overflow. Why would I care what my sump temp is. the whole point is I want my tank at a temp. The chiller gets the sump less then one degree colder in my case then the tank temp (like a .2% difference once combined with all the other water) so it cycles for longer and works great. Heaters even less then that!

Doh, I hadn't thought of that:lol: Thanks for the great tip.

I'm getting about 10x turnover tank/sump, Dart on a 220 with an 80g sump. I also have 2 Tunze 6100s in the tank moving about 1200-1500 gph (it's hard to say since I'm using the 7095 controller). I'm pleased with my flow and growth at the moment.
