What Kind of Critters Do You Have in Your Fuge?

In case you didn't read about my adventure...I've recently set up an Eco System Pro 40 on the back of my 20g. I've got a wad of chaeto in it and am noticing some detritus buildup. As time goes on, I know I'll get more pods in there, but I've seen others with snails, etc. in their refugiums. I've even read about clams from the store (littleneck) in the fuge. Don't know if there's anything in particular that will keep it tidy in there or do I have to clean some out occasionally. Any input would be appreciated!

In my fuge there is [are]:
  • mud
  • mangrove sprouts
  • cheato
  • caulerpa
  • (the other macroalgae that looks like a Christmas Cactus)
  • ghost shrimp (escaped the jaws of my hungry fish and found their way down)
  • assorted snails
  • flame scallops (2)
  • tunicates (just sprang up)
  • mysid shrimp (ditto)
  • lots of pods (ditto)
  • littleneck clams
  • bristleworms
  • probably some other stuff I don't know about

I was just curious cause I noticed I need somewhat of a "cleanup crew" in there. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the LFS at some point in the near future.

Pedro, do the littleneck clams provide any benefit in a fuge? I know they would provide a nice benefit on my dinner table with a cup of butter!

They live off detritus and I've read that clams in general help to reduce nitrates. I used to buy them for my Dogface and just thrown them in the tank. One day I threw a few into the fuge and some are still there. A few survive in my sand bed as well. Flame Scallops are considered hard to keep, but there have been 2 in my fuge for over 2 years. Lots of organic material there for them.
