What I found it appears to be a netted flatworm? I saw a pic that looked similar. May be what smoked out the freebie clam I got with my TBS. Worm is toast for sure. Creepy Critters

Netted flatworm is just the popular name for one of many types of polyclad flatworms. All are predators and not good for your tank.

That looks just like the one I just pulled out of my tank. I think it may have been in my display for almost a year.

creepy. I was attaching a gargonian to the rock when it felt really slimy. I though it was a sponge till it move. Was most creeped out.

very disgusting and yet strangely beautiful creature. Another reefer was over helping me move some rocks and he thought for sure it was an octopus. We sledgehammered the rock apart to get it out of the hole it slithered in to.

I have no idea if it ever did any damage, maybe ate some snails? Someone from my club put it in a nano tank.

I find them in rocks with sacrophytons all the time.

Nassarius snails will eat them alive if you throw them onto the sand bed and they smell it.

We would prefer to reserve stickies for club business but I also agree that it would be a good thing to have.

Anyone have a problem with putting it up on the slashclub.org site?

I was thinking that if we had it on here people can come to this forum from other places on RC and then we could tell them to join SLASH and check out our WEB SITE .

But what ever you guys in charge think either way its a good Idea .

John,

Here are my thoughts on the subject. Feel free to disagree or come up with alternative methods.

It would be great to have it here BUT unless it gets locked every time we make an entry, someone will post asking for an ID and who knows where the discussion after that will go. I would think that folks would rather have a thread that contains nothing but pics of good or bad guys rather than something with a lot of text and possibly unrelated info.

For us to ask RC mods to unlock and lock a thread every time we want to make an entry would make for a PITA in their eyes. If we do it on our own site we can do all of that stuff ourselves.

Not that a slash thread EVER gets off original topic :). I saw one of these worms in my fuge, which is not actually connected to the main system yet. It was big too! about 2 1/2-3 inches long but it moved quickly and I couldn't get a pic and haven't seen it since. Now, thanks to Granpo Capo I know what I have and it's bad. Thanks for the info greg. I'll try to find it and get it gone! Here are some interesting things about these monsters;
