What Lights do you use?

I am upgrading my current lights to a sunpod HQI I ordered today but I am not sure what lighting your coral facilities use. I searched on the website but could not find it. I recently purchased a Brain Coral, Wellsophyllia (Trachyphyllia radiata) from you and was wondering what lights you used in your facility.

Labguy,

Thank you for your post. With regards to your question in our coral farm we use 20K 400 watt metal Halide lights. Our lights slowly move down the length of our holding tanks on a track to make sure that the light is spread for all the corals. Here is a link for that item http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produ...l&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=2004&Nty=1.
If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact our Technical Support Department at 1-800-334-3699 or via email at TechSupport@drsfostersmith.com and we will be happy to answer any question(s) you may have.

OK thank you. Now I am worried about the proper acclimation of the coral to my new light. I am currently using the Current orbit PC fixture w/192W of power. The new fixture is the Current sunpod HQI w/300W of power. What would you recommend I do for the acclimation procedure. Keep in mind I will be using the legs to mount the lights so I can not raise or lower it.
