What lights would you use?

So i have a new tank that I am setting up. The tank is an Oceanic 210 (72"x24"x29"). I am thinking of running 2 XM 250 watt 10K's on the outside and a 250 watt 20K Radium in the center. I am thinking of using the Icecap MH ballast and use 2 6ft VHO actinics. I would like to keep SPS and Clams exclusively. Do you guys think this would be fine? I am working on a hood that the lights would be about 10" off the water. I really do not want to use 400 watters because 1)dont want a chiller and 2)dont wanna use that much power!

I think that sounds like a good plan. You can always change your bulb configuration later if need be. And you will be happy with all the options you will have .

If it helps, I am setting up an AGA 210 also. I am planning on using 3x250W XM10K's in Ice Caps, and 2-6ft VHO actinics on an Ice cap 660. I will be using Lumenarc mini's. What reflectors will you be using?

The 20K Radium you want to put in the middle will have much less PAR the the 10K XM's. Considering the tank is almost 30" deep, to stick with the 250's, You might want to go with all 10K XM's. Or just keep whatever is in the middle of the tank up a bit higher.

i really wasnt planning on having much in the centre so i was using it more for a bridge-pointe if you will between the left and the right side of the tank

i was thinking of using the lumenarc mini as well...is it polished on the inside? pacific garden doesnt show a picture of it from the underside

I would only run Radiums on an HQI ballast for 2 reasons.

1) They have crappy PAR on an electronic ballast

2)They will most likely burn so blue you will hate them.

IMO, since you're going to use supplemental lighting anyways... just go with the XM's. It won't look so funny then either, being so blue in the center of the tank.
