Very nice!

All this talk about rare angels brings me to one question. Who are the rare collectors here in the U.S. - Who has the best or most rare collection???

I am sure there are some collectors out there that are not on this site and probably keep it on the down low but as far as RC members my vote goes for Copps. He has one of the most diverse collections that I know of. I mean how many people in the US can say they have Resplendant's.

Don't know that one, but I'm sure Jealous of Large Angels if that C. vanderloosi is still alive? How is that doing? I wasn't following the thread when you got that, but oh Man. What a find!
How is it doing, Large Angels?

Matthew

I had resplendens - both captive from Frank (RCT) & wild. Although....well you know how that story goes. I lost my last wild one a few months ago.

Hey Matthew, this fish is not a C. vanderloosi. It's an undescribed possible new species in the melanosoma complex that's coming out of the Philippines. Despite its similarity to vanderloosi, their distributions are not near each other. Check out this thread for more info... a gorgeous fish nonetheless though!

blface, Rich is going to let me know when the BBC program airs, and I'll hopefully get a copy on DVD... I'll update here when I find out though...

Copps

By the way, for those who haven't seen check out this thread to learn about this fish...

:( Makes me sad :(

Got any pics :)

Well, regardless of its REAL identity ( its a dead ringer for C. vanderloosi!) that is/was(?) a gorgeous fish. What's its status Large Angels?

Matthew

Hey copps,

Not to Hijack the thread, but did you see the Pacific Abyss re-run? What are your thoughts on that pair of Genicanthus bellus they caught outside the (previously) known range?

Matthew

I'm amazed 49 people are claining to own Paracentropyge boylei - I've seen a lot of fish, but never one of these.

How many are in captivitiy in the US - any guesses?

That's a big NONE for P boylei in the USA, there is ONE in Japan,
theres a picture of it in the new Anglefish of the World book,

I think people mis-understood the poll... the title of the thread is "What rare angel is least owned?", the title of the poll is "What hard to find angel do you have?". I think they were answering the thread question and not the poll question.

There has been only 15 ever collected for the trade & there's none in the U.S.

And here it is.
