What salt for SPS dominated??

So i finally decided to make my own water. For the past 1.5years i went to my LFS to get my saltwater but i got sick of going everyweek. I got myself a refractometer and i plan on making my own water. I have mostly sps (frags to mini colonies) what are some salts that are great for sps dominated tanks and what are some tips for making my own water and doing the water changes? (I do have an RO/DI unit from BRS.)

I have used got old IO for the past 10 years without any issues. However, i do have a calcium reactor also so that makes up from any inefficiencies the mix may have.

I use IO, I use 2 Part. I haven't seen much of a need yet to switch to anything fancier. Although in the pat i used reef crystals, hw, red sea. and who knows what else.

If I ever feel like IO is lacking I'll switch back to hW.

I've used IO for years. Recently switched to OceanPure Pro because it was on super sale. No change.

You will notice a difference if you switch between different brands. IO is fine as long as you are supplementing some elements for sps corals. If you want an "All In One" salt brand, Oceanic is a great choice. It can get a bit pricey, depending on where you find it at. I like to use a mixture of 60% IO and 40% Oceanic when the option is available. Oceanic is almost a bit rich but every system has different needs.

h20 DD ocean was probably the best salt i have ever used

but needless to say i use Reef crystals and have for over 3 years, lol i can't justify the huge cost of the DD plus shipping it thats why i use RC

I traditionally used IO and RC. Now I use Seachem Reef Salt ($35 a bucket through club powerbuy...can't beat that), I think it mixes at lot more 'clean' than RC. I think if you're already supplementing your sps tank and you're doing regular water changes, then the salt mix isn't that critical.

You'll see plenty of very successful large sps tanks that use IO...
