What should I get??

Roger, I have a few questions about the tunze setup. I have an iwaki md70rlt running on two 3/4" sea swirls for return placed in the middle of the tank each running a 180 degree pattern. Also, I have 4 seio 820s two high on each side angled upwards towards the surface, at different angles. I get a lot of flow in my 72x24x24 180 mixed reef but I don't like the fact that the seios are not controllable.

I was looking into the TS24 kit, would this be good to go with? Where would a good position be if I was looking at the stream rocks for placement? How much control do I have over the operation of the powerheads - can it be wave oriented? Is it going to be too much flow for my lps and softies?

Basically, I wanted to get more flow and didn't want to put in anothee seio. These steams are expensive but worth it from what I've read. I realize it's a lot of questions for thank you in advance for your help.

2 6000's would be about equal to what you have, 2 6100 would be a bit more than double. The flow can be reduced to about 30%. The Streams have many control features when used with the multicontroller but it is unlikely to actually generate waves.

Thanks Roger. A wavebox be better solution maybe. How much clearance from the top do you need for the waves? How easy is it to install? Maybe keep the seios and add the wavebox in I'm thinking now if it'll work.

That might be a good option. On a 180 a wave of about 1.5" high would be the norm. With the magnet holders added they are pretty easy to install. What kind of aquarium is it?

Sorry for the delay Roger. It's an acrylic rectangul 180 with two large openings on the top and overflows on each side. What comprises the wavebox system and can the wave height be adjusted? What part numbers would I need for the wavebox and magnets? I have some room underneath in my cabinet for any type of unit. Thanks.

The wavebox includes the box/pump and controller. It has a clamp holder system you could use if you drill your tank bracing. How thick is the acrylic? Keep in mind that the wavebox does shorten tank life some (approx 10% of tank life is lost in glass tanks) and we are uncertain as to the effect on acrylic, many acrylic experts are saying it should be thicker than normal. The wave height can be adjusted a number of ways, mechanically restricting flow by turning the pump inlet or electronically adjusting the driver of the pump or using a smaller propeller.
