What solutions do you use to clean out test tubes?

I'm curious how other people clean their test tubes. Especially for one of my test kits, the test vial is difficult to get into and there is always a milky stain on the inside glass which I'm afraid will interfere with the next test results. Are there any solutions which will eliminate this? Vinegar, acetone, bleach etc?

i leave lemon juice or vinegar in vials for overnight and then rinse them well usually cleans our perfectly. roll a wash cloth or paper towel and push it in the vial and clean it out. (roll it like a cigar)

I keep vinegar and RODI water (75%|25%) in a spray bottle and use it liberally to clean all taste and cleaning parifinalia. Easy and inexpensive.

Good ole $1 peroxide

Peroxide is fine. Microbiology labs i worked in used borax soap and water and wire nylon brush.

On tubes like Red Sea and Hanna with caps I rince and store full with RO/DI.

Is a waste for cleaning the haze out of your testing vials. Use an acid. Vinegar is probably best. Peroxide isn't any better than water for that purpose.

After I'm done testing, I rinse everything out with tap water, and then do a quick final rinse in RODI water to prevent residue....
