what test kits is everyone using I wanna know!

I use Salifert for everything except pH. Got a meter for that.

If you cant afford a meter at this time for pH, the API test is real close to my meter. Fastest by AS is not bad either.

anyone tried the new phosphate test from tunze-i'd like to get a better quality test without spending a couple hundred dollars, and i believe the tunze kit runs for around 65.if i remember correctly

Lamotte is supposedly really good tk ...i am going with salifert as i dont want to pay 50 bucks a test kit from lamotte(and never heard anyone else say they use it)

seachem are great and much cheaper then salifert... I think saliferts are over rated...I have been in this hobby long enough to be able to look at my tank and see how everything is doing and when something looks off, I can test and by then if something is off, it will show on any test kit...Nothing is better then your eyes.

Lamotte sucks. I threw it out! The best test kit for phosphates that I have tried is Merk (ROWA). What Salifert measured as undetectable, Merk has it at .03. I know it's right because my Algae is still there, so now I can control it better.

i have the merk phosphate test, nitrates, havent' tested in a while, just bought a new kit,

So mystery, do you still have algae ? My Seachem kit tested slight PO4, but my algae is gone. Salifert says 0. hmmm

I just bought the Merk test last week, since I still had Algae. Now, at least, I know why! I have a very heavy Bio-load, so I raised the amount of ROWA in my rector, so I could raise the flow a bit. I am also feeding less. However, with Salifert, I was "at my wits end", since it was testing at zero, and I thought I was doing everything possible. My algae has stopped growing, but I know now that I still have a problem. Now I have the correct information to act upon.
