I've had this Squamosa for about 6 months. He's been doing just great but in the last week or so I've noticed somthing weird.
Right next to the base of his shell, there looks like somthing dug down (like a little tunnel next to the shell). There is this stringy kinda spider web looking stuff right there as well.
Some days he'll retract his mantle a few times and then come out again, like there is somthing bugging him. I tried to lift him off the sand a little ways but he is attached and I don't want to damage the byssal gland.
Any idea what could be going on here? I can't seem to see any creatures, even at night but I am sure it's some kinda snail or somthing, I'm just unsure of how I can deal with it, without hurting my clam.
I really appreciate your help =)
