What the heck is this?

I got this the other day from a fellow reefer when I was picking up some rics.
He was pointing out some of his coral with a straw and broke a head off by accident. He had a small branch that was covered by these small heads.the tips glow like a torch or galaxia . This piece is tiny about pea size but it peaked my curiosity.
Any ideas?

Do they look like little brown tubes, with the very ends being more clear than brown? And little hairs sticking out of them that kind of glow under actinics? If so, I'd say colonial hydroids. If that's what they are, you don't want that in your tank. They can become pests.

Definitely not a hydroid, it has a stoney skeleton.

Looks like some sort of galaxia/tooth coral but could be couple things if it starts to grow bigger; and not more of them..

Right now I am leaning towards a galaxia, I have nver had one and only seen them breifly at LFS's.
Any one have some pics of their's closed up so I can compare?

It looks like majano to me. They are pest if it is, you should remove that rock if you can before they infect your whole tank.

looks like the torch/euphyllia.

All of my branching euphyllia grow those random heads on their skeletons overtime and I have probably one big torch head with 4-5 of those smaller heads growing on their bodies n they look just like that right now.

I recommend you do a quick search on RC and Google for Majano and be your own judge. I have these infest my tank and I'm pretty sure it's one of those suckers. They come in whitish color, tan, brown and green. They spread fast and will kill most corals it touches.

Is there a problem with mojano if it doesn't touch anything? like does it release a toxin and kills all inhabitants in the tank? If it doesn't, I'd watch it grow and decide. It's still rather small, you never know
