Purchased a BTA about 3 months ago, stayed in same spot since
I got him then about a week ago he started moving a lot, I had to move some corals so they wouldn't come in contact. O by the way BTA looks very healthy even while moving around. Last night found him tentecals down in the sand but fully inflated, this morning water is very cloudy and cant find anemone anywhere.
85 gal all conditions perfect just did 20% water change on friday.
Any suggestion getting very worried.

Oh NO! Did he possibly get sucked into the power head and destroyed? If that's the case - from what I've read you're going to need to do a bunch of water changes!

Hopefully someone else will chime in..

Thats not really making me feel any better but a very possible
suggestion. Worst part about it Im at work all day and cant do anything about it, any other suggestion are very welcome.

Oh man - that does stink. Did you look under the rocks? Maybe he's just hiding and the cloudy water is... um... not sure about that.

Given the description.... Cloudy water + missing anemone usually means the anemone went through the chum grinder. I've had it happen a couple times myself. The last time I got two anemones out of the deal but I use huge closed loops. So, mine didn't get chopped as fine as a powerhead would have done.
Sponge filter good.
Strainer bad.

I usually did a 50 gallon water change (on a 300 gallon system) and let the skimmer do the rest.

Got home yesterday water cloudy still could not find anemone, performed 22gal water change and let the skimmer do the rest
this morning water pretty clear but still no anemone everything
in the tank still healthy. Im going to test water tonight and maybe do a small water change. Thank for that post but I think time to start shopping for a new anemone.

Oh that's so sad... I'm sorry PorscheReef!

But I'm glad everything is still looking healthy... Keep us posted!

That sucks. I would be on the lookout for chunks that might be rotting in your tank. Look under the rock work and in the powerhead intakes.

Finally the water cleared up after about 4 days and 3 water changes, but tested last night and NO3 about 30ppm everything else normal is this because of the of the finely chopped anemone
throughout the tank?
