What the Hell is this???

After this is ID'd this thread can be deleted.

I've never seen anything like this. I have two of them and thought they were just fuzzy mushrooms. But I come home tonight and find one on the glass. So I take the first pic and then an hour later it's fuzzy side up on a rock. The only thing I didn't get a picture of is it's bright green center, like the mouth of an anemone. Is it some kind of nudibranch or a crazy invert of some sort.

Do I have an alien in my tank????:eek2:

Its a nudi alright, most nudies are BAD so keep an eye on them or take them out right away before they lay eggs

I thought they were good as long as you didn't have sponges. I didn't know I was getting them when I bought a bunch of stuff (hitch hiker), and wouldn't you know I get one of the uglier ones.
Looking at this http://www.sergeyphoto.com/underwater/nudibranchs.html there are a lot of awesome looking ones out there.

Nudi eats zoanthids, anemonies, montipora coral, each others, algea, sometime they also can be helpfull combatting aptasia, but when I see nudi I get them out of my tank fast because by the time you find out what they eats, its too late. Use a srynch and suck them out is the best way to remove them.

They all have different things they feed on as North-Bay has pointed out. From the looks of yours it's mimicing a "daisy coral" so I would suspect that is it's natual prey. Almost all nudis are not suitable for out tanks.

Far more are coral preditors then sponge eaters that you'll get as a hitchhiker.

That looks like a tritoniid, family Tritoniidae.. probably came as a hitchhiker on a soft coral... which it was eating...

Make sure you look for an egg mass. They always leave them behind.
