So here I am days away from starting to cycle my tank with live sand and acid washed dried rock and I am at a crossroads. I have been through just about every thread as far as ich, velvet and all of the other nasty things that can crash a tank. So here it goes.
Should I QT my fish after TTM then add them into my tank (yes, weeks or many weeks away) after the tank has cycled and has been established while my inverts are doing their own 72 day QT?
Or should I do it the opposite way and add the inverts pretty much right after the cycle and go fallow for 72 days while my fish are in QT.
Right now I have no inverts and no fish.
I am trying to go slow and establish a sound system from the get go.
This is a new setup. I have a 120 long DT with a 75 gallon sump/fuge. I have another tank (55 gallon) that I plan on using as a HT that I can put the inverts or fish in for 72 days. I plan on getting (2) 10 gallon tanks and all the trimmings to use as my Qt tanks for TTM. Any and all thoughts are helpful.
