Should I feed it:

Kent PhytoPlex
Kent ZooPlex
Liquid Life Bio Plankton

or something else??

it's in my 30 gallon
I have a 150Watt 15K HQI bulb and 65 watts pc actinic over the tank.

I just feed the tank, I raised a little max he is a year old now about 2.5" from 1.5" never bowl feed it. I use the kentphyto

live phyto has the advantage of being "alive" when you put it in the tank,so IMO adding things that are not alive is just increasing the work that your skimmer is going to have to do,the clam my get some benefit from them but I don't think the benefit would be anything like what it would get from a live food

here's a picture of the clam, so far it looks great!
How do I know if the clam is eating? Will it close up around the food? i tried squirting some liquid life bioplankton (with cyclopeeze) and it seemed like the clam was more expelling fluid than taking the stuf in.

I'm not comfortable with taking the clam into a bowl, won't that stress out the clam? It's barely attaching it's byssal fibers to a flat piece of rock right now.

clams eat very slowly all day long so i thing squerting the food at/in it would stress it out more then bowl feeding it.if you must feed i would just feed the whole tank, but that Crocea looks like it is over 3" and at that size the clam depends on light for most if not all of it food.croceas need the strongest light of all the clams

also cyclopeze is to large for clams to eat,the ideal food size range for clams is 4 to 40 microns
