Alright, I got a pair of Black Ocellaris's yesterday, I would like to know what everyone else feeds their clowns. I want mine to be good and Happy. Let me know! Thanks!

Good flake food is all they need to thrive. My ocellaris also loved spirulina enriched brine and selcon/garlic soaked mysis.

1st Whats a good Flake food?
2nd I hear a lot about people soaking their frozen foods in such things as like you said "Selcon/ Garlic" How do I go about doing that. Just put the frozen cube in some tank water, add some Selcon or Garlic... But than how do I put it in the water for the fish. I know its not good to poor that stuff just right in. Thats where I believe I am getting confused. Thanks for the reply by the way.

Formula is a great flake food, or I use aqueon marine flake because it is all natural with no dyes or anything. The only thing you can really soak are freeze dried/frozen food or maybe pelletts. If you try to soak flake it will turn into mush.

To soak food take out a little tank water in a cup that you ONLY use for soaking food. Put your frozen/freeze dried food in there with whatever dose of vitamins/garlic you want. Let the food soak for AT LEAST 30 minutes and then either pour everything through a brine net and put the food in the tank or just pour it all in the tank. Water will get a little cloudy for a few minutes, but it doesn't hurt anything.

Feed mine Formula 1 and 2 flake, New Life Spectrum Pellets (small ones), Hikari Mysis and PE Mysis. They never refuse any of it and it shows :)

I also occassionally soak the mysis in Kent Garlic X-Treme or Selcon.

So I can dump the water right back in. I was told its not good to do that... Thats good to know. I will have to try that.

Well, I went out and got some Vitamins to soak the food in and Thawed out some Brine shrimp... The Clowns loved it. They wouldn't eat anything else! I'm Happy now I know they have eaten...

All my fish get a really varied diet. AquaThrive pellets, cyclopeeze. I also use Rod's food & PE mysis or hikari mysis; but I rinse all frozen foods at least twice before feeding, & occasionally soak frozen in Selcon. btw, did you get your b/w occy's locally, SharkLVR09?

I would skip the brine shrimp. It's like popcorn. Fortunately, clowns will eat just about anything. I try to mix it up - NLS pellets and frozen mysis, and a mix I make from shrimp, squid, clams, and squid. They also occasionally get Formula 2 pellets, and they'll eat pieces of nori that are dislodged by my other fish that eat it from a clip.

Alright, Well... That was just a typing Error. What I got is Titled "Mini Mysis Shrimp". I have NO idea why I said Brine shrimp... I would say, Slip of the tongue But I'm typing... I will say slip of the Wrist. LOL
