I have a 90 gal reef that i just started cycling. For flow the only thing i have going is a Mag9 return pump split into two outputs.. Using the calculator on the main page i am pushing just over 600gph. But the flow in tank doesnt seem like that much at all.

I've gotten approval from the wife to go with a Tunze setup and Im trying to figure out what to get for my size tank. Its basically a softie and fish reef as i only have 260w of PCs so stonies are pretty much out.

Looking at whats available I could go with --

Wavebox

Stream 6000 & single controller

(2) Stream 6000's and the multi controller.

My orginal goal was to have no mechical stuff in the display but its too late to go closed loop so I would be using the deco rocks to hid the streams in the back corners to shhot through the rock work and upward. Would it be a problem having the pumps near the sand bed??

In the tunze section there is a news brief posted with slightly smaller stream pumps becoming available late in the year.. Do i go cheap now and sicken myself with visible powerheads until they are released?

Any and all help is appreciated... I need to get some flow over the rocks soon to help with the cycle!

I have a 90G with a single 6000. I have it behind my rocks, on the back wall sitting near and pointed at the right side of the tank. The flow is directed across the front. I cannot turn it up very far because the output is so intense.

I would start with one, but get the multicontroller if you think you might want to add to it later.

If you have fine sand, it will be blown around some even with the 6000 near the top of the tank.

The effect of the wavebox on soft corals is pretty neat as they rock back and forth. The wavebox unfortunately is not sufficient flow on it's own. If it were me I would probably get the wavebox and add a couple of the 6045 Nano Streams when they come out.
