Hey sps geeks, i want to see what some people around here actually test their po4 with,

some threads i see is,

" i have .03 po4 " - They actually do not list what type of equipment there using, Salifert, Hanna, Elo's, API, Red Sea??

" i have 0 po4 with hanna " - please describe, Phosphorus ULR, or Regular Hanna po4

so please reefers, lets see what your using!

some info might be useful as well as in

Gallons: ??
Refuge: yes/no
Reactors: ?? Brand/ Biopellets/GFO?
Carbon Dose: type?
Temp:

I had no idea Hanna made a Phosphorus Ultra Low Range checker.

How does it compare to the regular Phosphate Low Range checker?

Hann ULR, much better than the HI 713,
but my last batch of test reagents all read 0....BAD batch.
Switched to next batch and got a 6ppb...(.019 PO4)

all other batches to that point have seemed good and accurate

I just gave up on my Hanna ULR Phosphorous checker and have been using the eye/color method along with Salifert but that only picks up on anything higher than .03 ppm. I never had problems with the Hanna until a few months ago when there seemed to be a lot of inconsistency between packets and batches. I know a few guys that have the Martini Phosphate tester and rave about its ease and consistency. So, I might be picking that up next week with the black friday specials.

Wow can't believe the stats Hannah comming to
I'm a Red Sea guy which seems to be the test of choice here in the uk
Must admit though my eyes ant 100% great
How easy are these to use ? May pick one up over the weekend

I use the salifert tests, but it always shows up 0. I know this cant be true since I have nusiance algae inside my overflow, and a few patches of algae on my back wall.

I read above that the salifert kit only detects above .03 Is the salifert kit not reliable for detecting phosphates accurately? Or is my current algae absorbing it so the tests dont detect it?

Theres nothing wrong with the salifert kit. its just not a low range kit.
