What type of protien skimmer would you use for a Aquapod 12 gallon?

Can't believe no one posted here...try the Remora Nano skimmer if you're going topless. I have the regular Remora on my tank (was a 24g Pod, now a 26g bowfront) and I love it! Its pricey, but you get what you pay for.

On a 12 gallon...i personally wouldnt bother with a skimmer unless you're finding that you need one. In other words, if you got lots of crap in the water or high nitrates or whatever, then sure get one. But i've found that on tanks that small, all you have to do is do like bi-weekly water changes. And if its a softie dominated tank then personally i dont think you need to do it that often even. I've gone a month on my skimmerless 40g breeder (with about 10 gallons in the sump) without doing a single water change, and my tank is pretty dominated by soft corals (lots of leathers, a couple of which are rather large, a bunch of zoas, xenia, kenya, gsp, and a couple digitata corals). The only things i really do is run carbon, phosguard, and that kent nitrate sponge (i think thats it), and they do seem to really keep my nitrates and phosphates down. At least they're always 0 now.

Sorry for the book! :)

But if you do want a skimmer, i'd say exactly what sugarfox said....remoras are good skimmers. I've had the regular one on my 55, 40 and 29g tank and it did great on all of them.
