what up rams

Maybe it's my ac but I have never had problems with heat. I ran 650w's of mh over a 58.

My fan is on the controller now but it never turns on. What temp is everybody trying to accomplish when they talk about overheating issues?

Dude your tank runs 80-81º you don't think thats boarder line to warm?

Yeah what he said:dance:

I have 400w's of heaters keeping it at 80.7-81.2 on top of my mh. Show me anyone that's had problems at a consistent 83. Yea if you keep your tank at 76 and it gets to 83 in a day there will be a problem but no problem if its consistent.

maybe I'm wrong and I'd like to see a temperature poll. heck what does mister TOTM run his at?

See... even smooth shoots for 78º

Nook what do you run in your igloo tanks?

Damn, Dennis. No wonder your tank runs hot with that MH right on the water like that. I would shoot for 12" off the water at least.

To answer your question though, I run 76-79. I keep on the cool side so I don't have to fight the basement and run heaters all the time though. If I brought my set temp up a bit to 80-82, then my heaters would run all night long.

Also I was always told the reefs are between 77 and 84 so why would 81 be worse than 76? Atleast my temp is in the natural range...

No my Halide is ghetto right now just to see how it looks. I would go for 10-12" above water.

That was problem during the summer time. Tank ran 80º at night and after the halides were on late afternoon tank would be 84-85º. After a few days I had to change the light cycle to nights all while the flesh started coming off my acros. :sad2:
