My pet store is very far from my house and I can't do as many water changes as I would like ( ps I keep all my major and Miner elements in line ) would it be better to put a rodi in my Garage or get a Gfo and carbon reactor to keep my water cleaner

If you are buying pure RO/DI (with salt) or NSW get a reactor & run GFO if you have phosphates & algae issues. Otherwise make your own RO/DI & mix your own salt, Check it w/ a refractometer.

I strongly recommend having a good RO/DI & making your own saltwater unless you get Natural Salt Water (NSW).
A refractometer (and 35ppt calibration fluid) is standard issue to check your salt content, don't go without it unless you use natural sea water, even then you should check it...

Get an RO/DI and have clean water. GFO and carbon can help with a few specific issues but they don't have nearly the effect of a water change. If you can do water changes and get to a mature and balanced system, you don't need any GFO or carbon.

Definitely get the RO/DI unit; it will pay for itself very quickly if you count the gas you're using to get water plus the cost of the water from your "not so" LFS. In no time at all, you could save enough to add the reactors as well.
