What would you putting your time/money on instead? If you weren't into reefing?

Race cars are nice, but I would love to become a scratch golfer!

Well not that I spend alot on money on my tank but if I did have extra cash I would love to do a 2JZ-GTE swap into my 97 Lexus SC300. Or better yet save up to buy a house!!!

its already got essentially a 2jz-gte in there, minus the turbo. Long as your not going boost crazy you'll have no need for the forged crank and extra oil cooling passages which is the big difference in the 2jz-gte and the 2jz-ge you have.

Refresh if you can't see pics

Well if I didn't use all my money for my reef tank I would finish my 1956 ford F-100 pick up, I would love to finish it but life keeps getting in the way (life's a jerk  )

here are some pics of the other love in my life

Right now I am looking for anything cheap and in any condition to start playing with again, wether it be sport compact or hot rod, as long as its domestic. Who knows what I will find? Definitly gonna chop the top on whatever it is and go permanent convertible, this time around.

and the done landscapping I have done so far-

early this year-

Lotts more to show, but this is my main landscaping project.

I'd like to carve out enough time to clean my house. Oh, and find the money to fix up my 1956 TR3. It was my dad's first car, and has been in the family since it was new.

I would love some koi, but.....

They arent going to work with my current set up unfortunatly.

As you can see the water quality isnt great. The existing 2 ponds arent as deep as needed for koi either.

I do have a bunch of goldfish though. Some as large as 10". They had babies in the pond for the first time this year, which I was pretty surprised to find. Due to the depth of my pond they are taken into the basment and placed into a 90 gallon "winter vacation" home.

I probly should have predator problems, but fortunatly for the pond (but not for me at times) both neighbors have very large dogs that seem to keep predators away pretty well.

If I wasnt focusing my reef tank as my main hobbie, it would be a whole nuther story. I would have UV, a surface skimmer, one very large and deep pond, with a waterfall and a bog area, a bridge, and a bit of a small river system conected throughout.

Fortunat for my reeftank, this is just somthing that will be a neverending work in progress, that will be changed/added to as time/money permits. It is on back burner financialy to my reeftank. I have spent next to nothing on the whole thing, including plants. Mostly sweat equity.

I think for everything, including plants, fish, rocks, mulch, liner pumps and lights I have spent less than $150....and alot of very labor intensive work. I got all those rocks off the side of the road in 2 months time from many many different places around here, including many of my plants. Goldfish luckily only cost 10 cents a peice, just gotta grow them up mice and big. Its been a 2 year process of work so far and will continue till who knows when.

Heres a couple pics from last year-

The first day the pond got filled-

Later in the year last year-

Since then I added the second preformed pond, which I think was a mistake. I liked the look alot better last year, but the pond is considerably bigger this year.

Looks like I am in need of a bigger pond liner next year! Maybe the freform can go out in the front yard next year....I am thinking I can also use the old liner for a very large waterfall......Never know what I will do till the time comes.

^this is just one of the many reasons I am not very active during the summer months in the zoanthid forum.

Winter and fall are pure reefing for me here in michigan. Is there anything else to do besides freeze during those very long months of michigan? Reefing is great for us freezing in the northern area of the US.

Even working on cars (which is suposed to be enjoyable) is a no go here in the northern areas. (unless you are blessed with a very well heated garage)

Anyone ever had freezing finger and tried to bust a bolt loose, only to have the wrench slip and smash your finger in between the wrench and a car part? You think it hurts when the weather is good.....It like being kicked where no guy should ever be kicked, but in a whole different area.

I dont even work on cars in the cold months......I wish I didnt have to pump gas at times, let alone any other work.

Trust me I know, it aint fun wrenching in cold wet weather here in Cali during winter times. Not as harsh as Mich' but to us here being used to the usual 60's-70's daily.

Well it seems like cars are the most popular thing on this thread, and I can't say I'd blame you. I'd probably finish my 93 camry sedan with single turbo off of a 3000GT and custom piping to a Volvo 960 intercooler. Once I finished that it would be a 02 Corolla type S with single turbo and intercooler from a 93 Supra. After that, I'd have to go with an AE86 and get into the local drift group. The supercharger on them has endless mods, and can be built into a +350hp fire breathing monster! If I had an endless supply of money, I'd get a 04 996 AWD Porche and TT that thing with custom heads and top/bottom end in hopes for 900+hp! Pretty much aside from reefing, cars are my second love. The remaining money would be spend on kids school clothes and the wifes shoe fettish

^ I know what ya mean about the wifes shoe fetish. If it wasnt for reefing, my wife would have her second coach purse (or what ever is "hot" these days) and some more shoe money......

LOL,

Wife has a shoe fetish but it's more for adiddas shoes and gear. Unfortunately I also have a Jordan/basketball shoe/gear fetish.. LOL

I have been thinking of getting some of the brand new, but not (they are the originals), BK's (british knights) for "old time sakes".

I'd buy my baby back:

Sold her because my wife and kids hated riding in it. My current 325i was a compromise, but if I could, I'd but my ACR edition back as a 3rd car.

I would probably dump my money into horses. I've got several as it is but I have always wanted a friesian:
