Hi all,

I have a 4' 120g sps dominated reef. My fishstock is as follows: 2 oce clowns, yellow tang, yllow coris, 4 BG chromis, bangaii card, dusky jawfish, 2 garden eels. I want one more fish. I am in love with the idea of getting a baby harlequin tusk. Will this work longterm?

Thanks in advance

HT is a very beautiful fish... With not enough experience to comment whether it'll work in that tank, or not, here's a free bump for someone with more experience...

The one thing I will give you a heads up on is to say goodbye to just about every small fish in your tank if you are speaking long term... They snack on smaller fish and inverts when they get larger...

BTW: I dig the way you are asking questions and being realistic before you purchase...

Thank you. I try to keep the fish's health at a premium.

Any thoughts people?

If you have no snail crab shrimp you'll be fine. They like meat but ignore other fish. Not su re about clams but I think clams should be dinner too.

I think you are on the border for tank size but I think it would work.
I have had one for several months that I got from DD that is doing great. Not as active of a swimmer as say a tang so again I think tank size would be ok. One of my favorite fish - make sure to get an aussie tusk. MUCH more vibrant colors. Mine especially loves clam and squid - they need meaty foods for those teeth.
Best of luck

Here is my aussie beauty. About 6-7 in. and is a big pussycat. While not typically recommended I do have a clean up crew of crabs and snails and he leaves them all alone. Maybe because I keep him well fed as you can probably tell from the photo.

Wow! That harly has a belly! I plan on adding a little more snails and then introducing a baby to limit his impulse as much as possible. Now to wait for my LFS to get one in:strooper:

Mine was about 3-4 in. when I got him. He has always been easy and never even picked at inverts. Got mine from dd - highly recommended.
