i went to the vivid bbq meet but then never heard about them again.

Same exact situation with me. I get to Vivid about once every month or two, but I never find the time to trek to any of those boss OC stores.

That is why the SFVR club is so great. Not sure what happened to that MASLAC club, they kinda fizzled, no?

I really love that the SFVR is located so conveniently. I've been to the last few meetings (small visits to local frag farmers), and I've gotten great deals each time. Plus the people are really great. I would encourage everyone to come out more often because if we want to have a club in our area we need to participate!

Yeah, we could use the participation. We had an initial meeting earlier in the year to try to plan when, where and how often the club should meet and we had 2 people show up. Makes it hard to plan events when there isn't a core group involved.

maybe we can use this thread to see how many would be interested in attending a quarterly meeting in the SFV

I think if it brings Dave business, he might be interested. He told me that he lost money on the BBQ SFVR had there. IIRC, He said he spent over $400 in food and the club only bought $260+ in goods at Vivid.

Definitely a good place to have it though...

I've been meaning to stop in at Aquarium Works again. Don't know the owner at all, but everyone seemed cool the few times I've been there. They hosted a SCNRS BBQ a year (or two?) ago. Their coral deliveries are on Wednesdays, IIRC. I'll stop in and chat.

i was in aquarium works today. Jose is at the shop 95% of the time and Steve can't make it in regularly b/c of a new addition to the family, but he's around on occasion. both of them are super cool and chill guys.

i know from prior conversations with them that both have expressed a willingness to host a small meet/swap. i'm pretty sure they'll be at RAP and bringing their acans, and they might be at the masvc meet later this year.

they're building up their acan stock back up (they have a decent $10 section), and they have a lot of nice lokani(sp?) LR in their bins. they aren't quite at the level they were at before they moved (from across the street) but they're steadily coming back.

maybe we can have a meet or two at both vivid and aquarium works?
