So far Conrad is unreachable. I would like to get a core of active members together (like Jeff said) and reform the club by making a new website and figuring out a regular meeting schedule. As for meeting at stores I have spoken to Aquarium Works and they said that they won't be ready for any club activity for a while. As for Vivid it was truly upsetting that they lost money on our first BBQ meet. I do not want that to happen again. Until we can establish a core group of dedicated and contributing members I think we should refrain from imposing on local fish stores. Even if it is a potluck and we all bring our own food it is still disruptive to their business if we do not have good attendance. Dave at Vivid is a great guy and I truly felt sorry about the lack of support from our members at his BBQ.
As for the other ideas that people have presented, they have their merits but will require some more discussion to flesh out the details. If you are not already on the SFVR mailing list please let me know so that I can add you. I would like to schedule a meeting to discuss all of these details so please let me know when are good days and times for all of you.
Thank you again Tanu for your support and I hope we will be able to get the club running at full speed soon.
i have some spare equipments that can be for club use... nothin fancy, but a couple of empty tanks (ap24, 20L), some k1's, hob skimmer, 150w sunpod that we can use to house frags for local swaps. would just need a stand or two (and water and a heater).
once i get the house decently situated, i can probably host a potluck mini swap every couple months. probably not a bad idea to rotate locations around the valley so the same people aren't always driving the farthest.
