its a crab doing that.
Watch the coral at the middle of the night, u will catch it in action.
Well, just to be safe, I moved the acro crab to the sump. No definitive proof he did it, but he was rummaging through one of my smaller mille colonies last night and he was easy to pull out. I hope he was the culprit to this mysterious carnage, but still keeping my eye open for other potential pests.
The true acro crabs cause no harm. double check with pics on google to make sure yours is indeed an acro crab. if it was living in a millie, and the millie had PE, then it was acro crab, and causes no harm to SPS.
but those little black crabs, or hairy ones ... ahhh, they can make a colony look miserable withing a night or two.
try the crab trap method as well, a tall glass, by the rock work, with piece of shrimp at the bottom. you should catch a bunch of stuff by morning if you leave it by the rock work.
