I notice that my scarlet reef hermits shell has some tiny holes in it and coming from one of these holes are two pinkish arms, tentacles just moving around picking up detritus.
the shell does have two feather duster of some sort.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is it good or bad?

Could simply be a worm species that has taken up home in the empty area behind the hermit crab. Probably nothing to worry about.

I have a couple of hemits w/ feather dusters attached to the shell, perfectly harmless.

There are several polychaetes mostly in the family Spionidae, genus Polydora, that are specialized commensals that bore into the shells of hermit crabs. Harmless.
