Whats my green bubble anemone doing?

My green BTA has been in my tank for about 2 weeks. When I bought him he was a lot greener, but is slowly getting his color back. Over the last two days, he has deflated his tenacles completely, Im saying that the tenacles just lay on his mouth, then about 3 hours later he returns more bulbous than ever. This has happened 3 times over the last 2 days. Is there a problem or is this normal?

If you fed recently it's probably expelling waste as Slakker said. They definately wil exchange the water within it's system from time to time also. Could be either.

It is probably nothing to worry about, just as was mentioned. My larger one does that within a day or two after large feedings of raw shrimp. Usually only lasts a couple hours, if it is excreting waste you will also see "stuff" coming out of its mouth, that is also nothing to worry about. In my experience if it is sick or dieing it will often have an extremely gaping mouth our even look like it is spilling its guts out its mouth.

My H Crispa scares the crap out of me when it does a good housecleaning by flushing nearly everything out and then back in.
She does it every couple of months really bad and I feel guilty leaving to go to work, even though when I get home she's always back to her old self.

Thanks for the information. I agree this is what is going on. He is fine now and I have been feeding him shrimp 3 time a week. I do feed him cooked shrimp, Is this a problem?
