What's the deal with Sunlight Supply?

I figured I would post this here as I rely on Premium Aquatics for my lighting needs. Recently I have opted to return to MH from T-5 lighting. I have been searching for a Maristar fixture. I had been holding out for the mythic Maristar 2 that was first previewed in September of 2010 by Reef Builders. Much to my disappointment, Sunlight Supply never released this fixture for whatever reason. So I decided to look for the original Maristar. I figured that since they never released the Maristar 2, that Sunlight Supply would at least still have a small production of the Maristar. I am guessing that is wrong. I realize that these fixtures were originally released in 2008, but why are vendors no longer able to get these fixtures? Has Sunlight Supply officially phased them out? Can Premium Aquatics get their hands on this fixture?

Hey Jason, which fixture are you looking for? Unfortunately the Maristar was discontinued, but I might be able to track one down. I know I can get a 36", but not sure on 48" or 72".

I was looking at the 48". i have a 200 gallon deep dimension tank, however my coral rest on a rock island in the center of the tank. If I position the fixture right above the corals, I think I may be able to get away with the 36". Are there 2 MH in that fixture also?

There are indeed 2 x 250 halides in the 36" fixture. I would think that it should be enough to cover just fine for you.
