Out of all the thick-branched Acros (humilis, samoensis, gemmifera, monticulosa, etc) which one have you found is the easiest to keep (wild or otherwise)? Anyone have a A. monticulosa?

IME the samoensis is the easiest to keep. I have a humulis and gemmifera that neither grow nor recede, so in that respect they are easy to keep. My samoensis has grown significantly and colored up as well. I blast them all with light and current. HTH

I think most will agree that captive grown sps of any variety are heartier than wild harvested specimens. I have some wild colonies in my tank and they seem to be much less tolerant to any change in the tank.

In the end it is better for the environment and you to have captive raised specimens, they will thrive more readily and keep its' owner happier with much less sorrow. Nothing worse than removing a RTN specimen.
