Sorry if this isnt the right section for this, I did alot of researching around this forum and found interesting things about garlic extract/juice but I was wondering whats the name of the product sold in vitamin stores?

I hvae a niger trigger I recently bought and it started to develope ich and I heard alot of great responses from people saying it helps improve their immune system and makes ich go away for awhile.
So I was wondering if anyone knew the brand name I could get at GNC or any vitamin store, and just to be safe is the vitamin store garlic brand juice safe? I seen the kent garlic extreme and garlic guard but I heard that the vitamin store garlic has more vitamins? so just to be safe is it safe to use vitamin/gnc store garlic and whats the name of the brand?

And would fresh garlic thrown in the tank cause any harm to the fish? despite the smell?

One last thing is this a true fact garlic causes fish liver to be damaged?
Last Post someone posted about it
Just want to make sure
Thank you

Garlic reealy doesnt do anything IMO except cause a better feeding response. It doesn't help cure ich and it doesnt hurt the fish.

What are you water params, tank size, other inhabitants, and how long have you had the fish. It sounds like he's very stressed somehow

I have a small Yellow Tang, Small Hippo Tang and small Niger Trigger in a 50 gallon tank. No corals, rocks and sand and thats about it the odd thing is the hippo tang beats on the trigger here and there thats what i think caused the stress but the hippo does it sometimes. other than that everything is fine. the trigger eats alot and i have had ich before in the tank but it usually goes away on its own but seeing this is a new fish i want to help it recover faster. oh and the tank is about 2years or so, or maybe longer.

so garlic does not cause liver damage?
Thanks

I diced up some garlic and mixed it in with flakes instead of garlic extract but the fish dont like the garlic pieces that are floating around. seems like they are too hard to bite lol

im also interested to kno what to use and how much. i went and bought some fresh garlic cloves to put in the blender with water to soak food, buti dont know how much to use...

Hmm, I don't know neither this is my first time trying this, after reading all the other posts and reviews about garlic. If I recall from the readings, I think you can't overdose? If this isn't right please correct me. Has anyone had their fish actually swallow a garlic chuncks?

I checked GNC, and it seems they dont sell the bottles anymore but pills instead. And I am not sure if these are it.

Wakunaga of America Kyolic® CARDIOVASCULAR* Aged Garlic Extractâ"žÂ¢ 200 caps

Wakunaga of America Kyolic® CHOLESTEROL* Aged Garlic Extractâ"žÂ¢ 100 caps

Wakunaga of America Kyolic® HEALTHY HEART* Aged Garlic Extractâ"žÂ¢ 100 caps

hmm whats the difference between these garlic extracs

I don't think you can OD them and I have had several fish eat the chunks but it's no better than if you were to take vitamins yourself, they're good for you but they won't cure what's ailing you...
