What's the Lifespan of a Tomato Clown?

Assuming a healthy tank and healthy diet, what's the average lifespan of a Tomato Clown (Amphiprion frenatus)?

What's the longest anyone has kept one?

Had my pair for 12 years. Female was HUGE when I bought her and the male was a small juvi. 20-30 years is likely.

Oh no!!! Looks like I'm stuck with the spawn of satan for time for years to come and I'll have to find some alternative method for attaching my corals to the rocks.

Well I think that they can live very long!On you tube there is a pair that the title says that they are 19 years old.I see no reason why these fish could not live another 10 11 years...possibly more!Just depends on how well the tank is cared for.

I have a pair and hopefully they'll live for a LONG time!!

Love my clowns...looking to get another species...any recommendations??

No so mean side of things I would go with some Ocellaris.Mean side of things I would go with some Maroons!

I kept and Ocellaris in all of my tanks in the past, but when the last one died I decided to try something else and went with a Tomato. Unfortunately it has now grown quite large and is highly territorial, making it VERY difficult for me to place corals anywhere near its favorite spot in the tank...a rose BTA.

Like clowns101 says above, if you want an aggressive clown, go with Maroons...and I'd throw Tomatos in there as well, especially once they get big. But if you want a friendly clown, I'd go with Ocellaris. If/when my Tomato finally passes on or I am miraculously able to catch it, I'll be going back to Ocellaris.

Catch it at 3AM. Flip the lights on suddenly and it will be dazed and easy to catch. If you don't get it within about 2 minutes, give up and try again another night.
