its pretty much clear of anything touching it other than the occassional hermit. I did wake up to find 4 more new babies that popped out over night. It must be going thru a growht spurt.

Happens to mine occasionally. I usually do an extra water change and it fixes it up.

I don't think it has anything to do with spawning or a growth spurt. I think when it is open all the time then suddenly it closes up of course we all take a closer look and we notice all the new growth.I think that has happened over time but you just don't see it with the polyps inflated.

Nice piece! Is it an acanlord. looks like the type I have.

Look for nipping fish had a convict tang that got a taste for Acans and then a year later had a aptasia eating file fish that cleaned the tank free of aptasia then started on the Acans. Took me a while to figure out because he was a shy fish. Got rid of the bad fish and the Acans are happy and fluffy again.

Thats exactly what mine looks like right now. It is an acan lord, I have a few other ones as well but this is the largest one. I did notice that there are some bristle worms taking refuge under it, I am wondering if they are causing this.

my acans do the same.. They just have thier days. If nothing is dying then it should be fine in a couple more day. Water change wouldnt hurt

So i moved mine off of the bottom and seems to be doing better. I need to move it a little to the right to get out of the reach of my frogspawn.

I have mine next to my hammer and the other day I came home and my acan was feeding on one of the sweepers from the hammer. It actually swallowed the head of the sweeper tenticle and was pulling it in or the hammer was retracting and trying to pull it back .
Either way the strand was pretty taught so I cut it. Both corals look uneffected!
