I have two clowns, percs, both small, had them for a while, and they've been healthy for the past 6 months or so but now one of them is very very skinny, i can see his back bone now, when ever he eats he floats to the top. I feed him flakes; I'm guessing he shallows a bubble, but every time? why is he so skinny? he eats regularly, after a while after eating he does sink again and swims normally.

did his swim bladder or stomach or something blow up and now he can't regulate his floattyness/digest construction paper looking petco fishfood?

What are you feeding him. You should vary his diet I have never fed flakes but I know some people do. Try some frozen mysis shrimp. I f he is eating and still skinny he probably has some type of parasite.

Try giving him Mysis shrimp, cyclops, cube mixes, New life Spectrum pellets. Feed him small amounts several times a day and watch to make sure he is actually eating. Is his poop white and stringy? If so - I'd say he's got a parasite.

he actually eats, it goes in mouth and his stomach gets fat, but he doesn't get fat, the rest of his body is very skinny. I can see his backbone pretty clearly. no sign of poop yet. but why does he float to the top on his side after he eats? look like he's bellyup dead when he does it
