I purchased this clam at a lfs last Friday and it has not extended it's mantle anymore than this since putting it in my aquarium. The clam is approx 2 inches long. I also have two crocea since last summer that are healthy.

The clam is living with a percula clownfish, 3 chalk bass, yellow coris wrasse, royal gramma, cebu blenny and a powder brown tang in a 90g. I have not noticed any fish paying any attention to the clam. Lighting is 2x 250w 14000k MH.

temp= 78F
ammonia-0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5-10
pH 8.2

I will check calcium and alk tomorrow and post results.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

post your Ca and Alk when you can, and how / when / what you do to maintain it.

did yo check the clam for pyramid snails or other hitchhikers before adding him to the tank??

try covering the clam with half a pop bottle ( with some small holes for flow ), if he opens up more then you have a fish bothering him.

also try posting a closer pic of the clams mantle please.

I will post ca/alk this afternoon. I maintain it using a two part buffer every morning when lights come on.

I throughly checked the clam for pyramid snails before adding him to the tank but didn't find any. I did have to remove some calupera or similar macro from its shell. I'll work on getting a closer pic of the mantle.
