What's your most unreliable piece of equipment?

Well my marineland stealth just stopped working, fortunately my apartment never really drops below 70. More troubling I woke up to a seized skimmer pump, opened it up couldn't pull out the pinwheel even with need nose pliers. Found a new sedra 3500 for $75 ordered that and a new bucket of red sea coral pro no tax on either and $10 shipped both to my door in just over 48 hours. Now that's what I call service :D

Most unreliable piece of equipment?

My Octopus Calcium reactor pump. 2 years and 3 pumps later :(

Next most unreliable... the doggone korallia K2 I had in my NC12. The front end screen thing fell off all the time.

Sorry to hear about your calcium reactor pump issue Blitzburg.

My official response is "heaters". In the past year I've had a Jager break open (and poison my tank), a titanium heater stop heating while I was on the opposite side of the continent, another heater stop heating although its light was on, and another heater fill with condensation within 10 minutes of being put in the sump. Heaters suck and companies are cutting so many corners in production that i think quality is suffering severely.

Just thought I would give an update. I have not returned my stealth heater yet because I HAD a couple backup heaters. They are both dead now. One just stopped working and the other filled up with condensation (thanks for mentioning that Ken). I guess I will exchange the stealth for another piece of equipment.:angryfire:

Chris,

I was cleaning my garage the other day and found one last Stealth hiding in my aquarium stuff. Took it to Petsmart last weekend and they gave me a new heater no questions asked!

I think I still have a stealth in my box o stuff. I'll have to make a trip to petsmart this weekend and exchange it
