Originally posted by JER-Z still no answer eh? i was told i am #2 on Aquarium Specialtys list and will get one on the next shipment...Any info on when that is?
I was on the same list as you. I got my 6045 from them two weeks ago. Very nice pump and quiet too! I haven't experienced any of the rattling issues most have from the 6025 (knock on wood). :rolleye1:
I am sooo excited! had a chance to buy 2 used ones, but for only $5 under retail for month old pumps seemed a bit much, so I am back in the waiting game.
With the problems we have had with the 6025 the 6045 has been on the back burner. We want to make sure that the pumps are free of trouble from here forward. For the past month the only way we had to do this was meticulous hand assembly and testing. The parts came in earlier this week that will allow mass production without the problems. The tolerance issues have been solved. Soon the deliveries will improve. I apologize but it doesn't do us any good to sell a flawed product, it costs us a lot of money to remedy these situations and we want things to go smoothly from here forward.
I don't think it will be that long but I as well as Mr. Tunze and everyone else don't want to put off people who have a problem pump and don't want to sell anymore problem pumps, so replacement 6025's have been the priority. In Europe they have to pay a big tax to dispose of electronic equipment now so this is very expensive over there, they have a new tax as of last year and all electronics have to have a RoHS seal and a disposal tax.
well I can wait for quality! love the fact you are interested in fixing the pumps out there and making sure future pumps are correct! again thumbs up for tunze!
just got my 6045, mounted it and is running less than 5 minutes ago. dead silent, excellent flow and positioned JUST where i want it!!!!!
i love the nano's opposed to the regular sized streams (too big for my liking). i'd rather place a few hydor's and nano's around the tank the get a more complex turbulent/crashing flow than have two giant powerheads going at each other...
