ok.. im going to start raiseing it slow. that way it wont be in the 7's if it drops on me. Im still using super dkh buffer and turbo calcium. i really need to make the switch. just a lil nervous about understand kalkwasser and getting it right...
calcium is always hovering in the 400 zone. never lower then 400 but sometimes 430ish at the highest mag is 1230 (oe 1260.. i forgot what the last test read)
Ive been testing daily since i just did the big move and everything...
Originally posted by hollback Swing between 9 and about 9.8 Any higher or lower and some corals look great and some look horrible. In this zone everyone seems to be happy IME.
However, my balance technically is permanently off. My calcium sits at 450 rock solid. That being said, it's where Kent mixes at, I've never really seen issues, nor do I have any problems keeping that balance... errrm incorrect (except when I add my phos material ALK goes down a tad).
I donno.. 8 has always worked great for me. I would think my coral grows at a 'normal' pace. I have it a 9 today. Ill keep it there and see if it works for me.. 7.7 wasent working for me lol
I'm told the ocean tends to be 7.9. I keep mine 8.3 or lower. One thing corals don't like is change: my personal theory is their tissues take much longer than fish take to adjust to a water chemistry change.
