Where do you buy jebao powerheads from?

Hi all!

Was thinking about upgrading my powerheads to something slightly less cheapo. Do you guys just buy your jebaos off eBay/Amazon? I'm surprised to see that brs and md don't seem to stock them, given how popular they are in the hobby.

10-4 thanks guys!

I guess I have been adding a powerhead here and there for a while now. I looked at my tank last night and realized I have 8 SunSun powerheads in there! And a bunch of them have broken clips so they're just like dangling in the water. I'm just finishing up a good paying gig, bout time to up my flow game

I got mine from an Ebay store based in wisconsin. While not strictly Jebao's, they are the generic version of them and after running them for 18 months I haven't had any issues.

I like to get mine from www.reefbreeders.com If you have any problems with it down the road, Logan is really good about taking care of his customers. You won't get that kind of customer service buying them off eBay or Amazon.

Generic version of a cheap jebao powerhead... :lolspin:

Full disclosure: I'm running two Jebao PP4s in my 40 breeder.

ebay seems to have the best pricing (deals) out there of the normal sites..
all mine have come from amazon though just because thats where I shop..

fishstreet is just expensive now w/shipping,etc.. so no point buying there anymore IMO..

Must have better deals on ebay over there. For Aussies fish-street is about AU$20 cheaper then ebay.. Just need to shop around to find the best price for your area :)

look into the JB wave to run with them.

I was thinking 2x rw-15, or rw-20, and Frankenstein the busted SunSuns into one or two working ones for dead spots. The rw's claim to talk to each other wirelessly, do you think the wave would be an improvement over what the pair of them can do? Or like it would be cheaper to buy wp's and have them controlled by the wave?

It's a 120 with minimal rock, and the rear 10" of floor is barebottom.

The wave lets you do adjustments to the pumps via Bluetooth from a mobile device. It gives you much finer control over the pumps speed as well as multiple options for different flow patterns. It also has a timed night mode instead of that dumb light sensor, if that matters to you, as well as an adjustable feed mode that can be activated via mobile device or by pushing the physical button on the unit.

Here's details from the website:

Edit:
Depending on what you are wanting to accomplish, it might be better to forgo the wave and buy more smaller pumps and use the stock controller rather than using two large pumps with the jbwave. You might end up with less dead spots and less noise. My two RW 15s are pretty loud at 80% or higher.

So to keep the noise down you might consider getting two RW 20s with the wave so you won't have to turn them up so high, or even 4 RW8s with the stock controllers or even 6 RW4s.

You may end up quieter with less dead spots and more random flow using more, smaller pumps. But it's all in what you want.

For a little more $$$, you could get a Maxspect Gyre.

Just one replaced all of my powerheads, and I have to keep it on flow setting #2 out of 10.
