Where do you hide your equipment?

Any creative solutions to equipment overflow that doesn't fit under the tank? Unfortunately tank doesn't back up to a potential fish room space and bowfronts are notorious for their lack of space.

I'd also really like to separate sump/salt water/skimmer and their possibility of leaks from electrical sockets. I've gotten away with pretty dangerous proximity of wires and sockets and salt water for many years, and think it's time to clean up my act. I'm thinking maybe some kind of cabinet I could put next to the tank that would look ok in the living room.

Pictures of your solutions would be great!!

In a closet next to the tank. I took the doors off and replaced it with a curtian:

coralsb4bills: Actually yes, I responded on that one - it's what gave me the idea for this one, since I'm not nearly as good a packer as you!

Lobster: that's what I'd like, but the tank is in the living room: no closet. Maybe I can find one of those old fashioned armoires - closets for people with no closets.

I hide mine all over my system so it looks like a giant retarded decorator crab that crawled into the dashboard of a wrecked plane to camo up..

or....

Hide? I don't believe I know the meaning of the word

or....

reason #2 why I keep the reef in the basement centrally located over a floor drain: no aesthetic compromises to get in the way of my reefing pleasure.

Mine goes into the cellar...

But I had given some thought to building a piece of furniture to house some equipment styling it like an end table or file cabinet to sit next to the stand allowing for photo frames or other objects on top of it with the last setup I had.

ooop's sorry, what about Ikea!

I'm in the same position with my new tank setup. I'm going to use some wire shelves from Target for now. They are opening up a new Ikea here this month and that's exactly where I was intending to look!

I will soon be hiding a chiller and a kalk stirrer on top of my canopy. I never planned on having them but it just kind of happened. They will be hidden behind a decorative accordian style screen that my girlfriend is going to paint.

FWIW --landlord

I'm just placing it beside the thank, cabinet next to the tank will be better. It could also serve as a side table, for something looking nice (like pico tank or Nano-Cube) :D

I squeezed everything for a 115g in the footprint of a 70g tank. Can be done, just takes planning. Literally millimeter clearances.

I run a basement sump with two hoses going up through the living room floor. All the noisy, spilly stuff is downstairs.

I keep hearing the same word over and over here on RC "ba-se-me-nt" what is this thing? here in california we have "no-th-ing" like that I wish we did but real estate being at $850. sq.ft. a basement is just crazy talk.

Pumps and sump are under the main tank. All other equipments are place in a DIY stand adjacent to the main tank. My refuguim and top-off tank are on the other side of the main tank. A separate equipment room would be ideal.

Hey Peter how do you like your Korallin 1502? I'm still tying to dial mine in, what is your drip rates? (sorry for the HiJack).

Took me a while to dial it in. I bought it for its tiny footprint (relevant to this thread :D ).

I'll have to check my notes at home for drip rates, etc. I do know I run pretty fast, so my alk coming out of the reactor is significantly less than 25. I just found this method easier.
