Where Have All the Magnificent Magnificents gone??

By any chance would anyone be willing to send me the number of the lfs that you guys are getting these from so I can give them a call and try to set up ordering one? Like said before, for some reason my lfs, which normally gets amazing corals, fish and inverts, cannot seem to get one of these... other than th brown ones.
Thanks everyone

I got mine years ago, and I wouldn't really trust the lfs I bought them from to ship anything. I felt like I was rescuing them.

heres a picture of a recent acquisition. Unfortunately due to its current position at the back of the tank this is the best picture I can get at the moment. It's foot is purple like garygb's mags but the tentacles and oral disc are flourescent green with purple tentacle tips:

I have attempted to mix haddoni and magnifica on multiple occasions. I've changed massive amounts of water, and ran huge amounts of carbon. The mag always ends up stressed, and I have to separate them.:sad2:

i have a very very deep purple foot on mine with purple tentcles and white tips. There were about 3 or 4 this summer on DD and i was lucky enough to grab one of them. BZ also had very nice ones just recently.

Thank you, I had a feeling that this would be the case but wasnt sure. I have a 180 now wth a 22-24 " gigantea in it and figured that combining the two would be too much chemicals for a relatively "small" system ...

Thanks

h. mag mixed with BTA's?

h. mag mixed with BTA's?

EC,
Have you mixed your H. Mag with any other anemone's successfully? Like BTA's?

I've mixed mags with haddoni, gigantea, malu, and doreensis. I don't keep BTA's. I've had problems with haddoni and gignatea. It's strange though, because magnifica and gigantea can physically touch with no visible signs of conflict. In my case, it may have simply been the haddoni that was stressing the mag, or maybe the combination of haddoni and gigantea in the same system with the mag that caused the problems????? I didn't have any noticeable issues with doreensis or malu in my system, but that doesn't mean you wont have issues in yours. It's hard to speak in absolutes with allelopathy.

Rotknee, Thanks Ill look into that...

Hypno.... I introduced a big healthy rbta into my system and it was never able to acclimate. It just wouldnt take, low extension, would not adhere etc. Now I run a lot of carbon in my system to take as much of the toxins and such out and I am still pretty sure that it is because of the gig anemone. Now not to say they havent been mixed before just my personal experience

This is day 1 of my mag being introduced to my anemone tank. I skim pretty wet and run massive amounts of carbon and the mag is doing just fine. It's gotten much larger and looks healthier than day one now.

No the are pretty close. The mag is already almost the same size as the haddoni. It's much bigger than the picture now.

So no problems with allelopathy aberefur? I've heard haddoni and mags sometimes don't mix well; however, yours both look great.

They seem to be doing great from what I see. I'm not super consistent with any maintenance on the tank other than carbon changes and cleaning my protein skimmer. The one thing I know for sure that helps is keeping the flow right for both anemones. The haddoni gets barely any flow, if any at all, while the mag gets alternating flow from two 6055s.
