Where have all the Southern Tier Reefers gone?

I've been in between homes. We just received bank approval for our new home and we are preparing for closing and moving. I condensed stuff into my 75 gallon from the 125 and it essentially looks like a toilet. I haven't had the space or time to look after it properly and so I lost many sps and other corals. Softies and LPS are doing fine and I moved many corals into0 my 65 gallon display at my office which is actually looking very cool. Hopefully, after I established in my new home I can reinvigorate my home display and return it to its former glory:)
The zoo tank on the other hand is doing quite well however we have to deal with increasing aptasia colonization. That's the full report.

I'm still here!

I'm still here!

I'm still here as well.
I've been doing battle with a leak in the bottom of my 72 bowfront. I have torn the tank completely down twice in the last month and re-sealed it with no luck. :furious: It seems to be fine for a day or two but then I begin to see water coming up from under the trim. I can't seem to pin point where the actual leak is. I have checked all my equipment, its not coming from that. I even let the silicone cure for 48 hours before water testing it.

Yesterday I finally had enough...I bit the bullet and ordered another 72 bowfront but this time I got one with built in overflows. Since I was getting the new tank I figured it was a good time to upgrade my filtration as well. I ordered a new sump last night. I was going to build my own but decided that me and silicone haven't been getting along so well lately. :lolspin: I plan on trying to re-seal the old 72 after the new one is set up. If I get it all sealed up I may end up ordering another stand and clearing out a couple of my smaller tanks.

I do have a question.... My old filtration system has a Rapids Submersible Pump (700gph) will this work with overflow? I would hate to get this all set up only to find out that my in-take to out-take ratio is way off.
I would like to make this pump work if possible.

I wasn't planning on spending that kind of cash this close to Christmas and I don't want to spend any more right now If I don't have to. On top of all that I ended up buying a vehicle this month too so I really, really need to slow the spending down. LOL

Any ideas or suggestions for setting up the new tank would be greatly appreciated!

Still here...
My tank is pretty full now, so I'm in the grow out and maintenace stage... which is less fun/exciting than building/stocking and frag swapping. Battling nitrates a bit... which is also no fun.
Life has kept me pretty busy, but things should pick up over the winter

Same here...

I'm new to this forum, and also post on nano-reef.com (where I've seen Neoz around). I'm new to the hobby, but look forward to posting here more often when time permits... and to the ABC swap on the 14th...

Hello,
I'm still around and running my 90Gal. Been fighting some type of algae for over 9 months now. Not sure what is causing it. I've tried Phosban in a reactor and no help. Its a red/brown type algae, not green. A few fish have died (old age I hope). I still have 4 clowns and 4 chromis. Not been investing much into the tank until I can resolve the algae. If someone has suggestions or would like to come take a look, just send me a message.
Setup a 12Gal for my niece but thats now down and in storage. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

Thanks! I have been trying to talk my wife into getting rid of the Angler, but she picked it out and she won't let me sell it. As for the Chalice, I have one piece already going to Daveverdo, one for Paizzon (spelled WAY wrong!), and possibly one going to Kelso. I have 4 chunks mounted now and just waiting on 3 of them to start encrusting before I get rid of them. I'll get them lined up and post a pic tomorrow for you.
