Cats were abundant in Western Australia (Indian ocean) but recently there has been a prohabition due to over collection and localised depletions. So they nearly all now come from the Queensland side (Pacific). Most the coloured acans come from the pacific.. the red and greens more common from Indian ocean.
As Pete said, there is collectora all over Australia, and most of the duncans and Acans are now collected from a small area called the Keppels.
Only a few collectors harvest in this area.
