Where to buy black PVC? Local

Do you guys know where to find Black PVC local? I am starting to get all the supplies to plumb my tank.

I will be updating my thread tonight with lots of pictures and all the equiptment that i have picked up...pumps..sea swirls...sump...bulkheads....
I need some input from you guys!!!

Have you tried Masellis on Lakeville, south / east of D St.? I don't know they carry black pvc, but they're a plumbing supply store and have tons of stuff.

depending on what size you are looking for, I have seen it at the salvage yard off of mongomery drive close to freedman hardware. I have also seen some nice stuff at Harmony farm supplies in forestville

Shane, I wonder if by "black pvc", you mean ABS? ABS, while similar to pvc, is typically used in drains and vents. PVC is preferred for potable water, which makes me wonder if there is not a potential issue with leaching with ABS.

ABS is commonly available. I'd bet money OSH and Masellis both carry it. But you might want to research its suitability for reef use.

I have seen the ABS Gray PVC, I wanted black for a cleaner look due to my stand has large glass doors in the front so you could see white PVC easy.

ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is black, not gray or at least a very dark gray and not the medium / neutral gray that you're probably thinking of. I certainly understand your aesthetic desire for dark piping.

Here's a quick pic I snapped in my closet behind my sps tank.

The fat black pipe is ABS, and is used for a drain and a vent. The part you see here is a vent going up to the roof but the part below the pic is a drain tying into the waste / sewage line to street. You can also see the 1" white pvc (poly vinyl chloride) return from my sps tank, blue, yellow and "clear" lines for my water filter, two black leads for my MH lights and a gray extension cord. All those various colors should give you an idea of how black the abs is.

I'm not trying to criticize you or to dissuade you from using it. Just illustrating what ABS is.

thanks, I'll do some research to see if there are any problems with ABS if not i wll use it to plumb the tank. OR maybe i could use PVC and paint it black befor putting it in....just another idea
