Where to buy Fish?

Gooch, you gotta give me a call sometime soon and I'll head up there with you. We got done building the stand for the 65g display tonight (just gotta make it look pretty now!) and I've got two 45s that will be starting up this weekend (really nice size: 48"x18"x12", perfect for corals). I'll be in the market for some acros for my personal tank within a couple of weeks here.

I do not get many coral fix's anymore but yesterday I was sitting at work thinking. I want a gigas clam. Someone wanted pics of growth on my frag plugs so I killed two birds with one stone. I have been watching those clams at his place for about a year now. Finally pulled the string and bought the small one. About 8".

Fred, I might go out there in about three weeks to take some more pics. I will try to let you know.

Awww...a cute little 8" baby gigas!

Count me in for the road trip. I also have a buddy that will want to come with I'm sure. Hopefully my tank will be ready for some frags by then. Maybe a clam or two (though not a gigas in the 65!).

I did want to let you all know that Craig at Just Pets did call and he is working with me to make it right about the tang. He isn't just leaving me hang with that expensive death.

I've always had good response from Craig/Just Pets in the past as well. You may want to make it a point with him to maybe talk to his folks there. It still strikes me as a little something that should be done for any purchase, whether it's guppies or a rare fish. Customers should be able to expect that.

Today at the meeting I picked up a big fat Naso, maybe 6 or more inches, and it has settled right in. He came from another person's tank and has already been in captivity for years. He is already eating and makes all my other fish look tiny. I am happy with my replacement so all is well that ends well. I still can't believe how huge she looks in my tank!!

Well I finally bought my new fish. I picked up 3 female lyretail anthias at Fosters and Smith over the weekend. I was fairly impressed with their setup. They had live sand and live rock in all of the tanks. Which means no copper keeping them looking healthy. They have been a little shy so far so I am waiting to post a pic of them together. The three will Schoal but one is extremely shy and the other 2 have to go get her and bring her out of her corner which is an improvement over the cave she lived in for the first 24 hours. I can see why some people are addicted to this species of fish with their unique markings and swimming motions. I found myself wondering and looking at what type of anthia to add next. But due to the contraints of a 120 I will have to settle for just the lyretail as there are other fish I want as well.

Actually Brian, Jodi up at Fosters and Smith told me that they do run copper in the left bank of tanks. The right side is copper free.

I had a CSR from in the office helping me because the phones were dead and the store was busy. So that explains the lack of knowledge on how the system works. Not to mention she did not know what a Lyretail anthia looked like. They had 3 different kinds of athias in the tank and she wouldn't believe me until she asked a regular persons from in the store. Pretty scary that a live aquaria CSR does not know what she is filling the order for when she is on the phone.
