Where to find?

Hey guys, maybe my Buffalo or Rochester bretheren can help me find anybody or anywhere that carries 36" Straight pin T5 PC replacement bulbs (specifically a 20k or straight actinic). I've searched most of the marine stores around Buffalo (fish place, niagara aquarium, markheim) and none of them carry them. All of the aforementioned owners of said shops claim they can order me one for $40-$45 :eek2: but that seems like highway robbery to me. I've found a couple places online that I can get them for $25 shipped, but lets just say I've had bad luck with bulb shipping in the past :furious: so I'd rather buy locally if I can find someone who doesnt mark up so much. Anyway, let me know if any of you guys out there can point me in the right direction. Thanks a mil :)

I'm pretty sure Aqua Tech in Cheektowaga has a few. They are Corallife 55 or 65watt straightpin, so they are 24". Not sure if they have 36"
You could give Jason a call. 716 348-2306.

I used to see them at Pet's Plus in Lockport as well. 716-433 0460

I also recommend ReefGeek. I got my T5's from them and with the way the packed them, the delivery person would have to TRY to break them...

ReefGeek was reccomended to me too by some others but they only have 55/65 watters while as gary mentioned, mine are 96W in the straight pin configuration (seemingly harder to find in this country :(). Thanks for those other stores, I knew there had to be some somewhere :)

Straight pin??? 55/65watts? I don't think we are all talking about the same thing. You have Power Compacts, don't you?

I had a great experience from premiumaquatics when I bought my t5 fixture from them last fall. Great service and they pack things well.

OK, he's referring to PC bulbs.....ignore the T5 part. Try AHSupply in rochester. They do a ton of PC stuff.

got some t-5s from aquatictech and dr. fostersmith. best price and good shipping. seems they all ship in triangular containers. that way nothing can be stacked on them.

By AHSupply do you mean the lighting place on University ave near downtown, or the hobby store in pittsford?

Oh, they appear to be the same business, and unfortunately in the 96watt bulbs they only carry square pin, not straight :(
