where to get sediment filters? DI expiration?

I'm looking for 10 micron sediment filters for my air,water,and ice RO/DI. does anyone know of anywhere to get that size locally for a decent price? i just need the sediment filters (still have carbon). the water in my apartment complex just turns the sediment filters a nasty brown after about 300 gallons, and would rather keep changing the sediment out more frequently than gunking up the carbon or RO membrain so fast.

also the DI resin that comes with the unit seems kind of blue color. i thought it was color changing, and haven't seen any change. What color does it change to? brown i think? probably doesn't need changing yet since in the 2 years i've had and used it, i've probably only produced about 1000 gallons. how long of life do most people get?

Not all resins are color changing. Your output water needs to be tested with a TDS meter. Do you have one?

1,000g is a LOT for single cartridge to produce...not impossible, but it is improbable.

Gotta test the outflow of your unit with TDS meter.
After this long, I'll bet your DI is exhausted on OKC water especially.
I have one if you need.

no, i don't have a tds meter. it's on the "need to buy" list, but with my hours getting cut at work, it might be awhile. could i bring a sample to your house and have it checked out, Paul? or anyone else in NW OKC or Edmond? also need to check my calcium against someone elses test kit. i'm not sure if i did it incorrectly, but the new RedSea kit i got only goes up to 500 and it still wasn,t changing colors. the mag tested at 1250, so i guess it could be possible?

Cory, I live in Edmond and have a TDS meter you can use. Also Aquariums in Edmond will check your water for free. Not sure if they do TDS, but this is very easy and quick to do. Most any afternoon is good for me or I can put the meter in the mailbox and you can check at your convience....

Don`t know what size your filters are but if they are the standard 10" size I find this guy to be reasonably priced.
