where to place my new ric's

I'm also running PC lighting and I personally start my Ric floridas just below halfway up my tank and towards the outside of the tank and then slowly move them up to the brightest part of the tank over the course of a couple weeks. I don't think ric floridas need much in the way of lighting acclimation, but I don't like to take unnecessary risks just out of laziness so I do it anyways.

I tend to agree that starting the rics lower down, then moving them up as needed is the safest strategy. I have found some rics respond very well to intense MH lighting (tri-colors), while others seem to not "thrive" (like blues).

In any case, it's easier to move a coral up toward the light if it's not getting enough, than it is to rehabilitate a ric that has been damaged by too much light (IMO).
